Pinpoint Test M: Synchronizer Pressure Control Valves

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROLS - TR9070 for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The TR9070 transmission uses 4 synchronizers to engage and disengage gears. The synchronizers are controlled by 4 synchronizer pressure control valves, which are solenoids that control hydraulic pressure to the shift rod pistons. Each synchronizer pressure control valve can supply fluid to 2 different shift rod pistons. The selector pilot valve (SELPV) controls which of the 2 shift rod pistons each synchronizer pressure control valve supplies pressure to. The TCM supplies power to synchronizer pressure control valves 1 (SPV1) and 2 (SPV2) through the transmission solenoid power control 1 (TSPC1) circuit, to synchronizer pressure control valves 3 (SPV3) and 4 (SPV4) through the transmission solenoid power control 2 (TSPC2) circuit, and to the selector pilot valve (SELPV) through the transmission solenoid power control 8 (TSPC8) circuit. The TCM controls each valve through dedicated low side drivers.
