Second Row Seat Back Cushion Foam/Cover: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove headrest and sleeves. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/HEADREST - REMOVAL) .
- Remove second row seat. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SECOND ROW SEAT - REMOVAL) .
- Disconnect heat element wire harness.
- Remove armrest. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SEAT ARMREST - REMOVAL) .
- Remove seat inner panel. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SECOND ROW SEAT INNER PANEL - REMOVAL) .
- Remove outboard side handle (lift on back side of handle where it engages retainer tab and pull off).
- Remove two screws attaching inboard side shield.
- Remove three screws attaching outboard side shield.
- Disengage outer J-straps at seat back. See Fig 1.
- Remove screws attaching trim ring to seat back frame. See Fig 2 and Fig 3.
- Remove trim ring. See Fig 3.
- Disengage inner J-straps from trim ring. See Fig 4.
- Disconnect wiring harness (for heated seats) at inner shield and feed back harness through hole in shield.
- Remove seat back foam/cover and heating harness assembly together (keep trim attached to foam pad).NOTE: Use care not to damage wire harness during removal procedure.
- Disconnect heat seat wire harness from three attachments and route to under side of cushion pad.
- Remove cushion and cover from seat back frame. See Fig 5.
- Work the foam and cover under recliner torque rod and remove seat foam/cover. See Fig 6.
- Separate seat cover from foam.
