Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement

WARNING:

WARNING:

To avoid personal injury, perform a passenger presence sensor rezeroing/ learn on the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

WARNING:

The passenger seat cushion assembly is serviced in a kit with the airbag front passenger presence module, cushion pad (and if equipped, heat mat, vent mat, vent mat support, comfort pads). All components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit and must be replaced as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the appropriate front seat. Front Seat Removal and Installation (Manual) , or Front Seat Removal and Installation (Power) 
  2. Front Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement 
  3. Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Replacement (Manual) , or Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Replacement (Power) 
1 Front Seat Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Disengage the hog rings, J-channel retainers, and clips.
  2. Disconnect any electrical connectors, as necessary.
  3. Remove the front seat cushion, front seat cushion heater, and front seat cushion pad as an assembly.
  4. Separate the front seat cushion cover and the front seat cushion pad by pulling the cover away from the pad.
2 Front Seat Cushion Pad
NOTE:

The front seat belt presence sensor and front seat cushion heater, if equipped, are integral parts of the front seat cushion pad.

Procedure

  1. Separate the front seat cushion heater mat from the front seat cushion pad by using a heat gun to loosen the glue, moving slowly from one end of the mat to the other end, slowly peeling the heater mat up. Do not to use high temperatures or hold the heat gun in one place for too long. Front Seat Cushion Heater Replacement
  2. Install the appropriate front seat. Front Seat Removal and Installation (Manual) , or Front Seat Removal and Installation (Power)
