Disassemble Procedure

  1. Front Wheel Drive Shaft @ Transmission - Remove [2x] - Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
  2. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement
  3. Radiator Outlet Hose - Remove - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
  4. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement
  5. Radiator Inlet Hose - Remove - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
  6. Generator and Starter Cable - Remove - Generator and Starter Cable Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7 with Automatic Transmission)
  7. Remove the engine wiring harness.

    Tension the drive belt tensioner (1).

    1. Install a wrench (3) to the drive belt tensioner.
    2. Push the drive belt tensioner in arrow direction until a suitable fixing pin (2) can be installed into the bore.

    Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor Belt (1) - Remove

  10. Air Conditioning Compressor - Remove - Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
  11. Remove the engine mount bracket. Engine Mount Bracket Removal 
  12. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Drive Belt Tensioner Removal 
  13. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Belt Idler Pulley Removal 
  14. Remove the starter. Starter Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)

    Torque Converter @ Flex Plate - Loosen

    1. Turn the engine at the crankshaft pulley (2) clockwise with the EN-49979  holder (3) along with the EN-49979-100  pins and the EN-956-1  extension (4) until a torque converter bolt (1) shows up.
    2. Remove and DISCARD the first torque converter bolt (1).
    3. Turn the engine at the crankshaft pulley clockwise 60 degrees.
    4. Remove and DISCARD the second torque converter bolt.
    5. Repeat the previous 2 steps until the sixth torque converter bolt is removed.
  16. Install a suitable cable to the 3 engine lift brackets.
  17. Install a suitable engine lifting device to the cables.
  18. Extend the engine lifting device until the steel cables are slightly tensioned.
  19. Put the engine transmission unit down on a wooden pallet.

    Transmission Bolt (1, 2) - Remove [2x]

    Transmission Bolt (1) - Remove

    Transmission Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

    Transmission Bolt (1, 2) - Remove [2x]

    Remove the transmission converter cover (2).

  25. Remove the transmission.
  26. Automatic Transmission Flex Plate - Remove - Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement

    Install the EN-49271-200  adapter (1) to the engine block.

  28. Bolt (2) - Install [4x]
  29. Install the engine with the EN-49271-200  adapter to a suitable engine stand.
  30. Transfer components as necessary.
