Installation Procedure

  1. Install the following components on the drivetrain and front suspension cradle if removed:
  2. Raise the hydraulic jack to install the cradle to the vehicle.
  3. Using the CH-51034  cradle alignment guide pins (1), have an assistant vertically insert and hold the pins through the front suspension cradle and floor panel.

  4. Install the cradle front washers (2) and bolts (1) and cradle rear washers (4) and bolts (3) and tighten the cradle front and rear bolts to 120 N.m (89 lb ft) + 30 - 45 degrees.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Install the cradle bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

  6. Remove the hydraulic jack from the cradle.
  7. Connect the front bumper lower impact bar to the cradle and install the front bumper impact bar bolts. Refer to Front Bumper Lower Impact Bar Replacement .
  8. Connect the transmission rear mount to the transmission rear mount bracket. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement .
  9. Connect both of the control arm ball joints to the steering knuckles. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  10. Install both of the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  11. Connect both of the steering gear tie rod ends to the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
  12. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (L5Q)Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LV7) .
  13. Remove the wire which secures the condenser, radiator and fan module from the upper body structure.
  14. Install the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  15. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
  16. Install both of the front bumper fascia opening lower covers. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Opening Lower Cover Replacement .
  17. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  18. Install the steering column dash seal. Refer to Steering Column Dash Inner Seal Replacement .
  19. Connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
