Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  4. Remove the radiator air upper baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
  5. Remove the radiator air lower baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle Replacement .
  6. Remove the surge tank bolts and reposition the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  7. If the auto transmission is equipped, remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement .
  8. Remove the oxygen sensor connector bracket bolt (1) and bracket (2).

  9. Unclip the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) and reposition the radiator outlet hose (2).

  10. Unclip the radiator inlet hose clamp (1) and reposition the radiator inlet hose (2).

  11. Disconnect any electrical connectors from the engine coolant fan shroud.

  12. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud bolt (1).
  13. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud (2). Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement .
  14. Remove the condenser securing bolts (1).

  15. Remove the condenser securing bolts (1).

  16. Tie the condenser assembly with a strap not to drop and not to be damaged.
  17. Remove the radiator lower bracket bolt (1) - left side.

  18. Remove the radiator lower bracket (2) - left side.
  19. Remove the radiator lower bracket bolt (1) - right side.

  20. Remove the radiator lower bracket (2) - right side.
  21. Remove the radiator assembly (1) from the vehicle.

  22. Transfer parts as needed.
