Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Remove the radiator surge tank bolts and reposition the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  5. If equipped, remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement .
  6. Remove the oxygen sensor connector bracket.
  7. Disconnect any electrical connectors from the fan shroud.
1 Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten 
6 N.m (53 lb in)
2 Engine Coolant Fan Bolt (Qty: 3)
3 Engine Coolant Fan Shroud
Procedure 
After removing the fan shroud bolts (1), remove the fan shroud assembly with a fan.
