Installation Procedure

- Install the engine to the transaxle. Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Position the powertrain support table under the vehicle.
- Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
- With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.
- Install the frame to body bolts. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install Transmission Mount - Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side M3U)Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side M3D/M3H)
- Install Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Engine Mount Replacement
- Connect the range selector lever cable terminal (4) to the transmission manual shift lever (5)
- Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
- Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft- Right Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD)
- Install Propeller Shaft -Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
- Connect the lower control arms to the steering knuckles then install the lower control arm ball stud nuts (1). Lower Control Arm Replacement (Equinox)Lower Control Arm Replacement (Terrain)
- Install Exhaust Front Pipe - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)
- Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering gear then install the pinch bolt (1). Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)
- Connect Stabilizer Shaft Link (2) @ Stabilizer Shaft -Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Equinox)Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Terrain)
- Connect Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod (3) @ Steering Knuckle -Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
- Disconnect Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (2) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose Replacement (LTG)
- Connect Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Water Outlet -Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG with KL9)
- Connect Radiator Inlet Hose (2) @ Water Outlet -Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG with KL9)
- Connect Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG with KL9)
- Install Heater Core Outlet Hose -Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LYX without KL9)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LH7) .
- Install Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) - Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube Replacement
- Install Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) -Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Connect Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe (1) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Connect electrical connectors as needed.
- Install Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
- Install Intake Manifold Cover (3) - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
- Install the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement
- Recharge the A/C system. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) .
- Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) .
- If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the Engine Prelubing procedure. Engine Prelubing .
- If prelubing has not been performed, fill the engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9) .
