Oil Filter Upper End Plate Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LF1) or COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND FILLING - VAC-N-FILL (GE 47716) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LAU)
  2. Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Auxiliary Water Pump Replacement (LAU) .
  3. Disconnect the engine oil cooler outlet hose at the oil cooler. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Hose Replacement (LAU) .
  4. Disconnect the engine oil cooler hose/pipe at the oil cooler. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement (LAU) .
  5. Remove the secondary air injection pump. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Replacement .
  6. Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement (LAU) .
1 Oil Pipe Turbo Feed Bolt
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  35 N.m (26 lb ft)
2 Filter Adapter Fastener (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)
3 Filter Adapter Fastener (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)
4 Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors.
  2. Discard the gasket. Do NOT reuse.
  3. Transfer components as necessary.
