Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement

Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement

Refer to SIR Warning .

WARNING:

To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the front seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement (with Manual Height Adjuster) , Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement (with Power Height Adjuster) .
  3. Remove the front seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .
  4. When working with the passenger seat re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .
1 Front Seat Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Remove the rear hog rings on the seat cushion cover from the seat frame.
  2. Disengage the J-channel retainer from the seat frame.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped with heated seats.
  4. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
2 Front Seat Cushion Pad

Procedure

  1. Remove the hog rings from the under side of the seat cushion.
  2. Pull the cushion cover off of the pad.
  3. When replacing the front passenger seat cushion, you must also replace the inflatable restraint front passenger mass sensor. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Mass Sensor Replacement .
