CAUTION:
Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.
Preliminary Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
- Remove the seat riser outboard finish cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Power) or Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Manual) .
- Remove the seat recliner inboard finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Back Recliner Inner Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the seat recliner outboard finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Back Recliner Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
- Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Passenger Presence System Programming and Setup

Cover, Seat Cushion Tip:
- Tilt the seat back forward.
- Disconnect the seat cushion cover J-channel from the seat cushion frame.
- Disconnect the electrical connector if working on the passenger seat.
- Remove the push in retainers from the side of the seat cover that attach to the seat frame
- Remove the hog rings from the seat cushion cover to seat frame.

Pad, Seat Cushion Tip:
The passenger presence system is part of the pad on the passenger seat cushion, and must be replaced as an assembly. |
