Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (W2E)

Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling
2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Removal and Installation - Bucket (W2E) .
3. Remove the front seat adjuster switch bezel. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Switch Bezel Replacement (W2E) .
4. Remove the front seat back cushion finish panel. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (W2E) .
5. Remove the driver or passenger seat cushion air pump, if equipped. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Air Pump Replacement (W2E) .
6. Remove the front seat back cushion latch release handle, if equipped. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Handle Replacement (Coupe) .
7. Remove the front seat head restraint guides. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement (W2E) .
8. Remove the front seat inner adjuster rear finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Adjuster Rear Finish Cover Replacement (W2E) .

Procedure

1. Disengage the J-channel retainers from the frame routed over the airbag module.
2. Disengage the bottom retainer.
3. Remove the airbag module nuts (2). Note the airbag module and harness routing for re-installation.
4. Note the routing of the airbag module studs through the cover during re-installation of the cover.
5. Disengage the J-channel retainers securing the cover underneath the airbag module. The new airbag module should be mounted through the holes in the seat back cover panel.
6. Disconnect the fan assembly, electrical connectors.
7. Remove harness from the seat back and note the routing for re-installation.

Procedure

1. Remove the airbag module from the two inside cover flaps. Refer to Front Seat Outboard Seat Back Airbag Replacement (W2E)
2. Separate the seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad by pulling the cover away from the pad.
