Front Seat Removal and Installation - Bucket (W2E)

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

WARNING:

Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

WARNING:

To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References for replacement and setup information.
  3. Remove the front seat adjuster track finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement (W2E) .
  4. Disconnect the front seat tentioner anchor by removing the cap, bolt, and cover. Refer to Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Replacement (W2E) .
1 Front Seat Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
42 N.m (31 lb ft)
2 Front Seat Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the front seat electrical connector, and passenger presence system connector, if equipped.
  2. After removing bolts, tilt seat forward and pull rearward.
  3. If replacing with a new seat assembly, the new seat adjuster memory module requires programming. Refer to Control Module References
