Removal Procedure

- Remove the supercharger drive belt (3). Refer to Supercharger Belt Replacement .
- Remove the air conditioning, power steering, and water pump drive belt (2). Refer to Water Pump and Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
- Remove the generator drive belt (1). Refer to Generator Drive Belt Replacement .
- Remove the engine cooling fan assembly. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement (LC3) .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the transmission bell housing inspection hole cover.
- Install the EN-48018 flywheel holding tool as shown.
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the charge air cooler cooling pump and position the hoses aside. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement .
- Remove the crankshaft balancer (2). Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .
- Ensure that you do not lose the oil pump drive to crankshaft balancer friction washer (3) that may come off with the balancer.
- Clean and inspect the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Cleaning and Inspection .
