Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the supercharger drive belt (3). Refer to Supercharger Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the air conditioning, power steering, and water pump drive belt (2). Refer to Water Pump and Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the generator drive belt (1). Refer to Generator Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the engine cooling fan assembly. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement (LC3) .
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the transmission bell housing inspection hole cover.

  8. Install the EN-48018  flywheel holding tool as shown.
  9. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  10. Remove the charge air cooler cooling pump and position the hoses aside. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement .

  12. Remove the crankshaft balancer (2). Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .
  13. Ensure that you do not lose the oil pump drive to crankshaft balancer friction washer (3) that may come off with the balancer.
  14. Clean and inspect the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Cleaning and Inspection .
