Installing the backrest frame for the front seat

Attach spring mat (2) to backrest frame (3).
Fix spring mat in position (2) using clamps (1).

Position backrest frame (2) on seat mechanism (3).

Tighten the screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Backrest frame on seat mechanism
M10	tightening torque	38 Nm

Secure cover (2) with clips (1).

Insert lumbar support (3) complete with drive unit and valve body.
Attach the lugs (2) of the lumbar support (3) to the highlighted spring wires.
Secure the clips (1).

Insert the valve body (1) with the guides (2) into the backrest frame.
Clip in the valve body (1) using the detent (3).

Secure the wiring harness (2) to all cable clips.
Connect connector (1).

Insert the guide sleeves (2) from above and engage backrest frame using the detents (1).

Installing side airbag on front seat.
WARNING:
Airbag unit.

Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!
- Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Feed side airbag in the arrow direction into the backrest frame and the upholstery pocket (3).
- Make sure the guide (4) is positioned correctly.
- Renew the blind rivet (2)
  Parts: Blind rivet
- Secure the side airbag using the blind rivet (2).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

- Attach the backrest cover (2) in this area (3).
- Insert the clip (1).
