Install steering column shroud lower section

Check 

• Check the plastic pin (1)  for correct fit and for damage.

  Result 

  » Plastic pin (1)  damaged.

  Measure

  • Replace the plastic pin (1)  .
• Connect the connectors (1)  and (2)  .

• Clip in the wiring harness (1)  in the steering column shroud lower section.
• Clip in the gap cover (2)  in the steering column shroud lower section.

Check 

• Check the retaining clips (3)  for correct fit and for damage.

  Result 

  » Retaining clips (3)  damaged.

  Measure

  • Replace the retaining clips (3)  .
• Screw the steering column shroud (1)  in the arrow direction.
  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Damage to the steering column 
  Using a screw that is too long can damage the steering column: 

  • Only use an original oval-head screw! See applicable BMW parts catalogue.

• Tighten the screw (2)  from the bottom.
