Close the engine compartment lid

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Failure to comply with the specifications for closing the hood.
Paintwork damage on the A-pillar, scratches or flaking of the paint.

Mask off the hood at the corners.
Let the hood fall maximum 30-40 cm when closing it.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Failure to comply with the specifications for closing the hood.
Damage to the hood hinge.

Remove the special tool before closing the hood.

Secure the hood by hand to prevent it from closing.
NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
Press the red pin (1) to unlock.
Pull out special tool 5 A3C D29 from hood hinge (2) .
Lower the hood up to a height of 30 cm.
Let the hood close.
Remove the adhesive tapes at the corners.

Check

Pull up the hood in the areas of the hood latches.

Result

» The hood can be pulled up.

Measure

Press the hood until the hood latches are engaged on both sides.

Measure

For vehicles before 9/2022:

Push back wire loops.

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Engage wire loop (1) into clip (2) .
Check wire loop (1) to ensure that it fits correctly in clip (2) .
