Installing the support for the dashboard

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.

Insert the support (1) for the dashboard in the vehicle.
Feed in the support (1) for the dashboard and connect and lock the present connectors.

NOTE: When feeding in the support for the dashboard, make sure the steering shaft on the steering column correctly feeds in.

Securing the steering shaft, bottom, to the steering column

NOTE: The bottom steering shaft and the steering column are not encoded in relation to each other. Always mark the positioning of the steering shaft in relation to the steering column for removals, installations and replacements. Non-compliance will lead to inclination of the steering wheel.

Align the bottom steering shaft (2) to the steering column using the mark (3) that was made during the removal.
Slide the bottom steering shaft (2) onto the steering column.
Replace the clamping bolt (1).
Parts: Clamping bolt
Tighten the clamping bolt (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Lower steering shaft to steering column
M8 Recut screw thread. Replace clamping bolt. No retorque permitted!	tightening torque	28 Nm

Tighten nuts (1).

M8 screw	tightening torque	21 Nm
Nut M6	tightening torque	8 Nm

Tighten the nut (1) and the bolts (2).

Connect connectors (1) and lock.

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Install the head unit high (HU-H) and tighten the screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Connect connectors (1) and lock.

Install the angle bracket and tighten the nuts (3) and (4).

Establish the ground connection and tighten the nut (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Ground cable to body
Hexagon nut	Tightening torque	8.0 Nm

Connect the connector (2) to the Head Unit High (HU-H) and lock.
Install the nuts (2) and (3) and tighten.

Connect connectors (1) and lock.
Connect the connector (1) in the right footwell and lock.

Attach the connector (1) to the temperature sensor and lock it.
