Replacing The Rear Door

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR OUTER WINDOW RECESS FINISHER STRIP .
• Refer to RELEASE DOOR WINDOW AT REAR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE MODULE BRACKET REARWARD .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR WINDOW GLASS (FIXED) .
• Refer to REMOVING THE DRIVE FOR THE ROLLER SUNBLINDS ON THE DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOWS .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP AT THE DOOR INSIDE REAR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE REAR OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVE THE REAR OUTER DOOR HANDLE SUPPORT .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR LOCK .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR DOOR CHECK .

• Pull up lock (1) and disconnect plug connection (2).

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

• Release screws (1) and remove the rear door (2) carefully with the help of a support person.
• Unclip the wiring harness at the marked positions (1).

• Release rubber grommet (1) and feed door wiring harness (2) out of door.

• Renew the rear door.

• Position the door (2) on the door hinge with the help of a support person.
• Tighten the screws (1).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Door hinge to door
  Countersunk screw with Torx M8
  	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Insert the door wiring harness (2) in the door.
• Install rubber grommet (1).

  Ensure correct positioning of the rubber grommet (1) (water tightness).

• Clip in the wiring harness at the marked positions (1).

• Connect connector (1) and press down lock (2).

• Release the screw (1) and remove the retaining clip (2).
• Position the retaining clip (2) on the door and tighten the screw (1),
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Retaining clip on door
  Sheet metal screw 4.8x19
  	Tightening torque	3 Nm

• Remount sealing plug (1).
