Remove the VDP control unit
Precondition
- Convertible top is open.
Convertible top flap is in open position.
Wind deflector is removed.
Rear seat backrest is folded.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

After the expansion or exchange of the ride height sensor or of the attachment rod of the ride height sensor and after the replacement of the control unit for the vertical
dynamic platform (VDP), a ride height adjustment must always be carried out.

Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING DOOR SILL COVER STRIP, INTERIOR RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BENCH .
- Refer to REMOVING THE WINDOW RECESS FINISHER STRIP AT THE REAR RIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE RIGHT SEAT BELT FINISHER STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING SIDE TRIM PANEL AT REAR RIGHT .
- Unlock and disconnect all the existing plug connections (1) on the VDP control unit.
- Unscrew the nuts (arrows).
- Remove the VDP control unit (2).
