Remove side trim panel at rear right

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Remove rear side trim panel

Get the set of special tools 0 493 752 (00 9 329) ready.

Loosen nut (1).
Loosen screw (2).

Remove the protective cap (1).
Loosen screw (2).

Unclip the rear side trim panel (1) on the clips (2) using a suitable tool.
Unclip the rear side trim panel (1) upwards from the clamps (3).
Feed the rear side trim panel (1) out of the door weather strip.
Feed the safety belt (1) out of the rear side trim panel.

Unlock all of the plug connections of the wiring harness (2) on the rear side trim panel (1) and disconnect them.

Partially release the Bowden cable for the convertible top cover

Unclip the Bowden cable (1) from the detent (2).

Push back the trim (1).
Unclip the Bowden cable (2) in arrow direction from the detents on the trim (1) and remove towards rear.
