51 71 412 Removing and installing/replacing rear spoiler
Special tools required:
When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).
Lever out seal plugs (1) and release screws underneath.
Tightening torque: 51 71 1 AZ .
Pull rear spoiler (1) in the direction of arrow and pull out of guides.
Tilt rear spoiler (1) upwards slightly.
Disconnect connection (1) for washer jet and plug connection (2) at additional brake light.
Lift out marked retaining lugs and remove cover (1) in the upwards direction.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Pull out cable (2) and remove rear spoiler.
Adjusting the rear spoiler:
Observe BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .
Press on rear spoiler (1) and measure gap of the rear spoiler (1) to the rear window (2) using special tool 51 0 010 .
A = 1 ±1 mm
Replacement:
Modify ADDITIONAL BRAKE LIGHT .
Using a suitable tool, lever out the retaining lugs (1) of the cover (2).
Pull cover (2) off the rear spoiler (3).
Modify the AERIAL if necessary.
Installation note:
Retaining lugs (1) of cover (2) must not be damaged or missing.
