- Plates :VAS6131/13-4 from the Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set :VAS6131/13 , quantity 2
- Engine and Gearbox Jack :VAS6931
- Gearbox Support :T40173
- Locating Pins :T40329
- M8x30 bolts, quantity: 4
- M8 nuts, quantity: 4
- Washers, quantity: 8
:T40173 , Preparing
-- Tighten the plates : 6131/13-4 with mounting elements -1 and 2- on the :T40173 as shown -arrows-.
Procedure
-- Remove the rear wheels. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Equipped on some vehicles: remove the diagonal braces. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY CROSSMEMBERS .
-- Remove the muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DLHB] / MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DLZA, DKMB] / MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DPAA] .
-- Remove the respective underbody trim panels. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
-- Remove the wind deflector from the transverse link. Refer to WIND DEFLECTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Versions with coil springs: remove the rear springs. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, COIL SPRING .
-- Versions with air suspension: bleed the air suspension system. Refer to AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
-- Support the subframe as shown with the : VAS6931 and : T40173 .
-- Secure the subframe with the tensioning strap -arrow- from the engine and gearbox jack.
Improper handling increases the risk of damaging the threads in the vehicle body.
- Never use an impact wrench to loosen or tighten.
- Position the bolts by hand only and screw in the first threads.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- from the rear subframe one after the other and install a locating pin from the :T40329 .
- If the locating pin cannot be inserted, rework the stop plate in the subframe mount near the retaining tabs slightly with a file.
-- Tighten locating pin to 20 Nm.
- The subframe position is now secured.
-- Remove the left and right subframe bolt -1-.
Remove the Locating Pins :T40329 .

- Position the bolts by hand only and screw in the first threads.
- Subframe bolts tightened.
-- Remove the locating pins and insert and tighten new bolts in their places.
-- Versions with coil springs: install the rear springs. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, COIL SPRING .
-- Versions with air suspension: fill the air suspension system. Refer to AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
There is a risk of accident due to threaded connections that are not tightened correctly.
- Tighten threaded connections correctly before driving on public roads.
-- A road test must be performed after completing repairs. If steering wheel is crooked, the wheels must be aligned. Refer to AXLE ALIGNMENT .
