Overview - Bevel Box Components

- Seal
- Between the bevel box and the transmission
- Replacing. Refer to SEAL ON BEVEL BOX BETWEEN TRANSMISSION AND BEVEL BOX, REPLACING .
- Bevel Box
- Removing. Refer to BEVEL BOX, REMOVING .
- Installing. Refer to BEVEL BOX, INSTALLING .
- Oil Drain Plug
- Tightening Specification:
- Threads greased: 11 Nm
- Threads dry: 20 Nm
- Always replace after removing
- With permanent seal
- Tightening Specification:
- Oil Filler Plug
- Tightening Specification:
- Threads greased: 11 Nm
- Threads dry: 20 Nm
- Always replace after removing
- With permanent seal
- Tightening Specification:
- Seal
- For the right flange shaft
- Replacing. Refer to RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING .
- Bleed Pipe
- For bleeding the bevel box
- Press it in until it stops
- Cap
- For bleeding the bevel box
- Right Flange Shaft
- Removing and installing. Refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Seal
- Insert into the surrounding right flange shaft groove
- Remove to replace the needle bearing (polygon bearing) -10-.
- Needle Bearing (Polygon Bearing)
- Replacing. Refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT NEEDLE BEARING (POLYGON BEARING), REPLACING .
- Circlip
- Always replace after removing
- Twelve-Point Nut
- 340 Nm ± 15
- Always replace after removing
- Secure the new nut by peening. Refer to OUTPUT FLANGE SEAL, REPLACING => Secure the twelve-point nut -A-. .
- Bevel Box Output Flange
- Shim
- No replacement part
- Seal
- For bevel box output flange
- Replacing. Refer to OUTPUT FLANGE SEAL, REPLACING .
- Tapered Bearing Inner Race
- No replacement part
- Bolt
- 38 Nm
- Pinion Housing
- With shaft bevel gear and outer race for tapered roller bearing
- No replacement part
- Carefully pry out, alternating from side to side
- Note the fastening holes; the pinion housing fits only in one position
- O-ring
- To replace, remove the bolts -17- and carefully pry out the pinion housing at the notches in the pinion housing.
- Do not remove the twelve-point nut -12- and the output flange -13-.
- Shim
- No replacement part
- Note the bevel box fastening holes; the shim fits only in one position
- Cap
- No replacement part
