Replace any bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.
-- Tighten the bolts in steps in the sequence shown:
| Step | Bolts | Tightening specification/additional turn |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | -1 to 6- | 5 Nm |
| 2. | -1 to 6- | Tighten an additional 90° |
-- Clean any oil or grease off the sealing surfaces.
The lubrication system could be plugged with excess sealant.
- Do not apply sealant beads thicker than indicated.
-- Apply sealant beads -arrows- to the clean sealing surfaces as shown in the illustration.
- Thickness of sealant beads: 2.0 mm.
-- Place the seals -1, 2, 4- and O-ring -3-.
The guide frame must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the sealant.
-- If there are no alignment bushings -arrows- at the locations marked in the cylinder block, insert them.
- Glide track -item 1- in OVERVIEW - TIMING MECHANISM DRIVE CHAIN for the timing mechanism drive chain is removed.
- The oil filter is removed, refer to ENGINE OIL, DRAIN, REPLACE OIL FILTER (8-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE) .
