Installing the Steering Gear Housing And Surrounding Components

Install:
- the heat deflector plate on the steering gear housing, Tighten to 10 Nm
- both the ball joints for the tie rods on the wheel spindles. See Installing the Ball Joint On the Tie Rod
- the rear engine mounting on the transmission. Tighten to 40 Nm
- Manual transmissions: the cable for the odometer and the spring clip
- Left-hand drive cars: the threaded end of the exhaust manifold. Tighten to 15 Nm
- the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and the front exhaust pipe, see Replace the Front Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and Exhaust Pipe Front/Catalytic Converter, Replacing
- the heat deflector plate for the drive shaft.
Tighten to 10 Nm.
