Flange/Driveshaft Seal On Rear Final Drive, Replacing: Installing

-- Before installing, lightly coat the new seal on the outer diameter and between the sealing lips with All Wheel Drive Clutch Oil.

-- Drive in the new seal all the way using the :T10019  . Do not tilt the seal while doing so.

-- Install the flange/driveshaft using the :30-20  .

-- Install and tighten the new hex nuts using Locking Compound:D 000 600  .

A -  M10 x 20 Hex Bolts

B -  M8 x 15 Bolt (installed in the :3415  from the rear)

Install in reverse order of removal.

-- Install all parts marked to each other in their original positions.

Install the Intermediate Bearing without Tension.

-- Align the intermediate bearing in its oblong holes so the driveshaft or bearing is not under stress.

-- Tighten the intermediate bearing only after the driveshaft has been attached.

-- Tighten the driveshaft and intermediate bearing. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT .

-- Install the pendulum support with new bolts -1- on the transmission. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .

-- Install the center tunnel heat shield under the intermediate bearing. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Install the rear section of the exhaust system. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 2.0L , OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 3.6L .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Check the oil level in the all wheel drive clutch. Refer to ALL WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .
