Hood, Adjusting

- Adjustment Gauge: 3371
Requirement
- When adjusting the hood, the vehicle must be resting on its wheels on a level surface.
- The hood must engage into the hood latch without using much force.
- The striker must strike in the center in the hood latch.
The hood is correctly installed, when it is closed and:
- The gap dimensions are even.
- The contours align.
- The hood is not positioned too far inward or outward.
Tip
The rubber buffers are break down and stability cushions. To high contact pressure the rubber buffer leads to malfunction.

-- Adjust the hood latch -4-. Refer to Hood Latch, Adjusting .
-- Adjust the striker -1-. Refer to Striker, Adjusting .
-- Check the gap dimensions using the Gauge - Gap Adjustment: 3371 . Note the BODY FRONT when doing this.
