Hinge, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

The procedure is shown for the right side of the vehicle as an example.

Tip

The hood can be centered in the -direction of the arrow C- and in the -direction of the arrow D- between the fenders.

-- Loosen the nuts -2- to adjust the hinge -1- in the -direction of arrow C- or the -direction of arrow D-.

Tip

The height of the hood can be adjusted in the -direction of the arrow B- between the fenders.

Tip

The hood can be adjusted in the -direction of the arrow A- to the front bumper cover.

-- Loosen the bolts -3- to adjust the hinge -1- in the -direction of arrow A- or the -direction of arrow B-.

-- Check the gap dimensions using the Gauge - Gap Adjustment: 3371  . Note the BODY FRONT when doing this.

-- Apply the corrosion protection on the hinges -1-, nuts -2- and bolts -3-. Refer to CORROSION PROTECTION FOR BODY, ATTACHED AND WELDED PARTS .
