Brake Pedal, Removing And Installing, LHD

-- Remove the driver side storage compartment. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - STORAGE COMPARTMENT AND COVERS .

-- Remove the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, DRIVER SIDE .

-- If equipped, remove the knee airbag. Refer to KNEE AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the driver side footwell vent. Refer to DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the steering column universal joint -2- from the steering gear. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the universal joint and pivot the steering column to the side.

-- If equipped, remove the crash bolster. Refer to CRASH BOLSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Data Bus on Board Diagnostic Interface -J533-. Refer to DATA BUS ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE -J533-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt for the brake pedal crash bolster.

-- Disconnect the brake pedal from the brake booster. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL, DISCONNECTING FROM BRAKE BOOSTER .

-- Disconnect and remove the connectors -arrow-.

-- Move the wiring harness to the side.

-- Remove the clamp -1-.

-- Remove the pin -3- to the left in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Remove the brake pedal downward from the mounting bracket.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Connect the brake pedal with the brake booster. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL, ATTACHING TO BRAKE BOOSTER .

• Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN VEHICLE INTERIOR .
