Overview - Input Shaft

NOTE:

Secure the transmission on the assembly stand. Refer to SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .

Warm the toothed gear to approximately 100 °C (212 °F) using Inductive Heater :VAS6414 . Wear protective gloves.

Install all input shaft bearings with transmission fluid.

Replace grooved ball bearing after removing. Refer to -item ) Grooved Ball Bearing-.

Circlip
- For the grooved ball bearing/input shaft. Refer to -item ) Grooved Ball Bearing-.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to TRANSMISSION, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING .
Transmission Housing
Circlip
- Select when replacing the Grooved Ball Bearing and the Input Shaft, refer to -item ) Grooved Ball Bearing- and -item ) Input Shaft-.
  Refer to Determining Circlip .
Grooved Ball Bearing
- Replace after removing
- Removing. Refer to Input Shaft, Disassembling .
- Installation position. Refer to Installing Grooved Ball Bearing .
- Installing. Refer to Installing Grooved Ball Bearing .
5th Gear Wheel
- Available as a replacement part together with the input shaft
- Removing. Refer to Passing Off 5TH Gear, Gear Wheel .
- Installed position: the surrounding groove -arrow- points toward grooved ball bearing, refer to -item ) Grooved Ball Bearing-.
- Installing. Refer to Input Shaft, Assembling .
Input Shaft
- With 3rd/4th and 6th gear wheel
Cylindrical Roller Bearing
- With circlip
- Removing. Refer to Removing Cylindrical Roller Bearing Off Clutch Housing .
- Installing. Refer to Installing Cylindrical Roller Bearing Into Clutch Housing
- Installed position: the circlip in bearing points to input shaft
