Clutch System Component Overviews: Hydraulics

  1. Brake Fluid Reservoir
  2. Spring Clamp
    • Not installed on all vehicles.
  3. Supply Hose
    • Rubber
    • On the Rabbit from 12.05, the hose is made of plastic. Refer to Fig 3.
    • On the Golf from MY 2010, the hose is made of plastic. Refer to Fig 3.
  4. Clutch Master Cylinder
  5. Clip
    • The clip must be removed in order to remove/install the hose/line assembly.
  6. Mount
    • To remove and install, disconnect the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to one of the following:

      Rabbit for Model Year (MY) 2006-2009, refer to CLUTCH PEDAL .

      Golf from MY 2010, refer to .

  7. Clutch Pedal
    • Removing and installing, refer to one of the following:

      Rabbit for MY 2006-2009, refer to CLUTCH PEDAL .

      Golf from MY 2010, refer to .

  8. Nut
    • For the tightening specification, see -item 15- in CLUTCH PEDAL .
  9. Seal/O-ring
    • Installed on the hose/line assembly connection.
    • Install using brake fluid.
    • Seal/O-ring type, refer to Fig 2.
  10. Hose/Line Assembly
    • To remove/install the hose/line assembly, the battery and battery tray must be removed. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  11. Bracket
    • Attached to the body.
  12. Seal/O-ring
    • Installed on the hose/line assembly connection.
    • Install using brake fluid.
    • Seal/O-ring type, refer to Fig 2.
  13. Clip
    • The clip must be removed in order to remove/install the hose/line assembly.
  14. Clutch Slave Cylinder
  15. Bolt
  16. Vent Valve
  17. Cap
  18. Transmission
  19. Bracket
  20. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
