Clutch System, Bleeding

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit VAS 5234 or V.A.G 1869

NOTE:

It is not necessary to pre-fill the clutch system.

For the correct brake fluid specification, refer to "Brake System, Bleeding" in General Information .

-- Connect the brake charger/bleeder unit VAS 5234 or V.A.G 1869.

Use the bleeder hose (670 mm) V.A.G 1238/B3.

-- Connect the hose to the brake charge/bleeder unit collector bottle.

-- Connect the hose to the vent valve -arrow-.

-- Apply 2 bar pressure to the system.

-- Open the vent valve.

-- Drain approximately 100 cm³ of brake fluid.

-- Close the valve.

-- Press the clutch pedal rapidly from stop to stop, 10 to 15 times.

-- Open the valve.

-- Drain another 50 cm³ of brake fluid.

-- Close the valve.

-- Press the clutch pedal a few times after bleeding the system.
