Front Bucket Seat Backrest

NOTE:

The following describe removing and installing components on the left seat. Removing and installing components on the right seat is identical.

Removing

-- Mount the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 on the engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT .

-- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.

-- Remove front left bucket seat trim. Refer to LEFT BUCKET SEAT TRIM

-- Remove the front seat belt latch:

-- Remove front right bucket seat trim. Refer to RIGHT BUCKET SEAT TRIM

NOTE:

From VIN 2615638 (June 2006), the backrest cover is secured to the backrest with additional clips (N.107.297.01).

Remove clips carefully from surrounding channel with a suitable tool.

When installing the clips, be sure to install them in their original positions.

-- Press left trim -1- on upper edge downward.

-- Then remove trim from mounts in area of the two catches -arrows-.

-- Remove right trim -2- in the same way.

-- Remove surrounding profile -3- in side area of backrest from surrounding channel -4-.

-- In lower area of backrest, remove profile -5- from mount.

-- Loosen all Velcro strips -1- on cover from depression in upholstery -2-.

-- Remove upholstery from backrest frame.

Installing

-- Install in reverse order of removal.
