Front Bucket Seat Backrest, Removing And Installing

NOTE:

The following describes removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing

-- Mount the fixture for seat repairVAS 6136 on the engine and transmission holderVAS 6095.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT .

-- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repairVAS 6136.

-- Remove front left bucket seat trim. Refer to LEFT BUCKET SEAT TRIM

-- Remove the front seat belt latch:

-- Remove front right bucket seat trim. Refer to RIGHT BUCKET SEAT TRIM

-- Disconnect the connector on the bottom of the seat pan for the backrest heating, if equipped.

-- Remove two bolts each on left and right sides -1- and -2- (34.5 Nm).

NOTE:

The bolts are microencapsulated and must therefore be replaced after every removal.

Before installing the new screws, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

-- Remove the backrest from the seat frame.

Installing

-- Install in reverse order of removal.
