Removal [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUBASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUBASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUBASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  4. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  7. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  8. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - ]

  9. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  10. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

  11. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  12. REMOVE REAR STEP COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER CAP (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  17. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  18. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

    Bolt
    Clip
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips.
    2. Disconnect the heater water inlet hose and heater water outlet hose.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts.
    4. Disconnect the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the tube.
      • Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.
    5. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
  19. REMOVE REAR ROOF NO. 1 AIR DUCT

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cooler plate.

      Remove the clip and duct.

  20. REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and rear cooling unit.
