Removal [12/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ] ).

  2. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [12/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [11/2017 - ]

  4. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER FINISH PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [12/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [11/2017 - ]

  6. REMOVE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to separate the DLC3.
    3. Remove the knee airbag assembly.
    4. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the locking button.

    5. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the airbag connector.
