Removal [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2015 - ]

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ] ).

  3. REMOVE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - ] )

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Disengage the 12 claws to remove the front door scuff plate RH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the claw and clip to remove the cowl side trim board RH.
  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  9. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  10. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Separate the front pillar garnish clip from the front pillar garnish RH.

      *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip
    2. Disengage the clip.
    3. Press the 2 areas indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

    4. Disengage the front pillar garnish clip and 3 guides to remove the front pillar garnish RH.
    5. Remove the front pillar garnish clip from the front pillar garnish RH.
    6. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      *1 Adhesive Tape
      *2 Protective Cover
      1. Cover the airbag with a cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front pillar lower garnish RH.
  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws, 7 clips and guide to remove the rear door scuff plate RH.

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  16. SEPARATE NO. 1 SLIDE DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH

    1. Disengage the 2 claws to open the flap.
    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the hook cover assembly.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the other 2 hook covers.

    4. Disengage the 6 clips and 2 guides to remove the back door scuff plate.

  19. SEPARATE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
  20. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING REAR GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and the 6 clips to remove the roof headlining rear garnish.

  21. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the anchor cover.

    2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the front seat outer belt RH on the floor anchor side.

    3. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips to remove the center pillar lower garnish RH.

  22. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

    1. w/ Power Slide Door:
      1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws to remove the power slide door control switch.
      2. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the 2 clips to remove the center pillar upper garnish RH.
  24. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  25. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the anchor cover.

    2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the rear No. 2 seat outer belt RH on the floor anchor side.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to open the anchor cover.

    4. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

  26. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  27. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Disengage the 9 claws and 8 clips.
    2. Disconnect the connectors to remove the quarter trim panel assembly RH.

    1. Disengage the 11 claws and 8 clips.
    2. Disconnect the connectors to remove the quarter trim panel assembly LH.

    1. Disengage the 8 claws to remove the belt hole cover.
    2. Depress the center portion of the trim hook, disengage the 2 claws to remove the trim hook.

    3. Disengage the 5 clips.

    4. Disconnect the connectors to remove the rear No. 2 window side garnish assembly RH.
  30. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Depress the center portion of the trim hook, disengage the 2 claws to remove the trim hook.
    2. Disengage the 5 clips to remove the rear No. 2 window side garnish assembly LH.

  31. REMOVE REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. w/ Rear No. 1 Seat Belt:
      1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the anchor cover.

      2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt.

    2. Disengage the 3 claws to open the cover.

    3. Remove the bolt.

    4. Disengage the 4 clips to remove the rear window side garnish assembly RH.
  32. REMOVE REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  33. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both assist grip sub-assemblies.

    1. Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover as shown in the illustration.

      *a Cutout
      • SST: 09813-00010 
      NOTE:

      To prevent the assist grip sub-assembly from being damaged, make sure to insert SST straight into the cutout.

    2. Pull SST as shown in the illustration to disengage the claw.

      *a 30 to 45°
      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:

      To prevent the assist grip sub-assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the assist grip cover.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedures for the opposite side.

    4. Disengage the 2 clips to remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
  34. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for all rear assist grip assemblies.

    1. Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover as shown in the illustration.

      • SST: 09813-00010 
      NOTE:

      To prevent the rear assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to insert SST straight into the cutout.

    2. Pull SST as shown in the illustration to disengage the claw.

      *a 30 to 45°
      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:

      To prevent the rear assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the assist grip cover.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedures for the opposite side.

    4. Disengage the 2 clips to remove the rear assist grip assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
  35. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

  37. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER 
    1. Remove the screw and visor holder.

    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Disconnect the 2 washer hoses.

      1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips to roof headlining assembly.
    4. w/ Rear Sliding Roof:
      1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip to roof headlining assembly.
    5. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.
