Installation [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure
- INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE
- Attach the 3 claws and install the spiral cable with steering sensor.NOTE:
When replacing the spiral cable with a new one, brake off and remove the lock pin before installing the steering wheel.
- Connect the connectors to the spiral cable with steering sensor.NOTE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Attach the 3 claws and install the spiral cable with steering sensor.
- INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

HINT:
Perform the following procedure only when reusing the spiral cable.
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Rotate the spiral cable with steering sensor counterclockwise slowly by hand until it feels firm.NOTE:
Do not turn the spiral cable with steering sensor by the airbag wire harness.
- Rotate the spiral cable with steering sensor clockwise approximately 2.5 turns to align the marks.NOTE:
Do not turn the spiral cable with spiral sensor by the airbag wire harness.
HINT:
The spiral cable with steering sensor will rotate approximately 2.5 turns to both the left and right from the center.
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 ft.lbf)
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to:
INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or
- INSPECT STEERING PAD
