Installation [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STUD BOLT 

    HINT: 

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.

    1. Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Install 2 new intake manifold to head gaskets to the cylinder head sub-assembly LH and RH.
      NOTE:
      • Align the port holes of the gaskets and cylinder head sub-assembly LH and RH.
      • Make sure that the gaskets are installed in the correct direction.
    2. Temporarily install the intake manifold to the cylinder head sub-assembly LH and RH with the 6 bolts and 4 nuts.
    3. Tighten the 6 bolts and 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  3. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH (for Intake Manifold Side) 
    1. Install the No. 2 engine mounting stay RH to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH (for Engine Mounting Stay Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 33

  7. INSTALL EGR DELIVERY CHAMBER 
    1. Install a new No. 2 intake manifold gasket to the intake manifold.
    2. Install the EGR delivery chamber to the intake manifold.
    3. Connect the EGR valve assembly connector.
    4. Connect the No. 7 water by-pass hose and No. 8 water by-pass hose to the EGR valve assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.
  8. INSTALL NO. 2 EGR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. INSTALL RESERVOIR BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34

  10. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  11. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Do not apply oil to the bolts as listed below:

    Oil Application Prohibited Bolt and Nut
    Bolt and Nut for Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly and Intake Manifold
    Bolt for No. 1 Surge Tank Stay and Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly
    Bolt for Throttle Body Bracket and Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly
    1. Install 3 new air surge tank to intake manifold gaskets to the intake air surge tank assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the intake air surge tank assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
    3. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, tighten the 4 bolts and 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut 

      Torque: 16 N*m (163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

      Install the throttle body bracket to the intake air surge tank assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Install the No. 1 surge tank stay to the intake air surge tank assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Engage the wire harness clamp to the No. 1 surge tank stay.
    7. Connect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.
    8. Connect the ventilation hose to the intake air surge tank assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    9. Engage the 5 clamps and install the engine wire to the vehicle body.
    10. Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake air surge tank assembly.
  12. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
