Installation [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a fuel injector assembly.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]

    1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to new O-rings, and install them to each fuel injector assembly.
    2. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil where the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly contacts each O-ring.

      Push
    3. Push and twist each fuel injector assembly to install it into the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
    4. Position each fuel injector assembly connector outward.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the fuel injector assembly and O-ring.
      • Do not twist the O-ring.
      • After installing each fuel injector assembly, check that it turns smoothly. If not, replace the O-ring with a new one.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure to install the other fuel injector assemblies.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install 6 new injector vibration insulators to the intake manifold.
    2. Place the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 6 fuel injector assemblies in position on the intake manifold.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    3. Temporarily install the 5 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly to the intake manifold.

      NOTE:

      After installing the fuel injector assemblies, check that they turn smoothly. If not, reinstall them with new O-rings.

    4. Tighten the 5 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly to the intake manifold.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the 6 fuel injector assembly connectors.
  3. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      *a Retainer
      *b O-ring
      *c Fuel Tube Connector
      *d Fuel Pipe
      *e Nylon Tube
      Push
      NOTE:

      Check if there is any damage or foreign matter on the connecting parts of the fuel lines.

      1. Align the fuel tube connector with the fuel pipe, and push them together until the fuel tube connector makes a "click" sound. If it is difficult to push the fuel pipe into the fuel tube connector, apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the tip of the fuel pipe and reinsert it.
      2. After connecting the fuel lines, check that the fuel pipe and fuel tube connector are securely connected by pulling on them.
    2. Install the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp to the fuel tube connector.
  4. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  6. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 71 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 72

  7. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 72 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 73

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a fuel injector assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]
