ROOF HEADLINING (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat): Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY 
  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 5 clips and turn up the front side of the deck board.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and deck board sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.3 
  5. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY No. 2 
  6. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and deck floor box rear.

  7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
    2. Disengage the 6 clips, and remove the rear floor finish plate.

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT RECLINING COVER No. 2 LH

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws, and remove the rear seat reclining cover No. 2.
  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT RECLINING COVER No. 2 RH 
  11. REMOVE JACK CARRIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the jack carrier support, jack assembly and jack carrier assembly.
  12. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH

    1. Remove the 2 clips and deck side trim box.
  13. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH 
    1. Remove the clip and deck side trim box.
  14. REMOVE RECLINING HINGE COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER INNER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER  (See REMOVAL )
  21. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  23. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER INNER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  24. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY RH  (See REMOVAL )
  25. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Disengage the 8 claws, and remove the front door scuff plate.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the claw engaging the front door scuff plate and the center pillar garnish lower.
  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  30. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear door scuff plate.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the claw engaging the rear door scuff plate and the center pillar garnish lower.
  31. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
  32. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  33. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  34. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Detach clip (A) from the vehicle body. Pull the pillar garnish so that the tip of clip (B) locks in the pillar garnish hole.
    2. Using needle-nose pliers, rotate clip (B) 90°.
    3. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front pillar garnish.
    4. Remove clip (B).

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
      1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet that is 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.

        NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
  35. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
  36. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 5 clips, and remove the center pillar garnish lower.
  37. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH 
  38. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage 4 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt assembly.
  39. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
  40. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Disengage the clip and remove the center pillar garnish by pulling it down.
  41. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH 
  42. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH

    1. Remove the deck side trim cover front and bolt.
    2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the deck side trim cover.
  43. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER RH 
  44. SEPARATE REAR No. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and separate the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly.
  45. SEPARATE REAR No. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH 
  46. REMOVE ROPE HOOK 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 rope hooks.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the other side.

  47. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
    2. Remove the rear combination light service cover.
    3. Remove the 4 deck side trim covers and 5 bolts.

    4. Disengage the 5 clips and remove the deck trim side panel assembly.

  49. REMOVE QUARTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the clip (A).
    2. Disengage the 2 clips (B, C) and remove the quarter pillar garnish.
    3. Disengage the 4 claws (D) and separate the rear No. 1 seat belt assembly outer.
  50. REMOVE QUARTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

  51. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and remove the roof side rail garnish sub-assembly.

  53. SEPARATE REAR No. 2 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and separate the rear No. 2 seat belt assembly outer.

    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the clip (A).
    2. Disengage the 4 clips (B) and roof side garnish assembly inner.
  56. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY INNER RH 
  57. REMOVE TELEVISION BASE (W/ TELEVISION DISPLAY)  (See TELEVISION DISPLAY )
  58. REMOVE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (W/ TELEVISION DISPLAY)  (See TELEVISION DISPLAY )
  59. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claws and open the assist grip plugs.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip sub-assembly.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.

  60. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY No. 1 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the lens cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 springs, as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the room light assembly No. 1.
    4. Disconnect the connector.
  61. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY No. 2 
  62. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the roof console box assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connector.

  63. REMOVE LH VISOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  64. REMOVE RH VISOR ASSEMBLY 
  65. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER 
    1. Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the other side.

  66. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage the clamps from the front pillar LH.
    2. Disconnect the washer hose. Remove the bolt and disconnect the radio antenna cord connector and disengage the clamps from the front pillar RH.
    3. Disconnect the washer hose. Disconnect the radio antenna cord connector and disengage the clamps from the rear quarter pillar RH.
    4. Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector, (w/ sliding roof)
    5. Remove the sunroof opening trim molding, (w/ sliding roof)
    6. Remove the 4 clips.

    7. Remove the roof headlining from the vehicle through the back door side.
  67. REMOVE ROOF WIRE AND RADIO ANTENNA CORD 
    1. Remove the roof wire, radio antenna cord and washer hose from the roof headlining assembly.
