Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED 
    1. NG: CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU 

    OK: Go to Next Step. 

  2. RECONFIRM DTC (See  DTC CHECK/CLEAR   ) 
    NORMAL AND MALFUNCTION CODE

    A Normal Code
    B Malfunction Code
    1. B: REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC (SEE  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART   ) 

    A: Go to Next Step. 

  3. CHECK VOLTAGE OF ECU IG POWER SOURCE 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Measure the voltage between terminals 25 and 2 or 24 of the skid control ECU connector.

      Standard: 

      10 to 14 V

    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to Next Step. 

  4. CHECK ABS WARNING LIGHT 

    In case of using the hand-held tester: 

    1. Select the "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light on the hand-held tester.
    2. Check that "ON" and "OFF" operation of the ABS warning light can be done on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.

    In case of not using the hand-held tester: 

    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Using a service wire, connect terminal WA (13) and GND (2 or 24) of the skid control ECU connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.

      OK: ABS warning light goes off.

    1. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 

    NG: 

    CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WA CIRCUIT)
