Heater and Cooling Unit: Removal

CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Be careful not to damage the airbag system harness when servicing the instrument panel. Damage may cause the system to malfunction.
- Seal the engaging parts of the disconnected hose, pipe and expansion valve - cooling with a plug or vinyl tape to prevent foreign matter from entering.
- Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)> REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work, Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Drain the coolant from the radiator. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Move the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT>REMOVAL
.NOTE: With the PCV hose connected, remove the air intake boot from the air cleaner case (rear) and throttle body.
- Remove the expansion valve - cooling. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>EXPANSION VALVE>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the hose - heater outlet and the hose - heater inlet.
- Remove the instrument panel assembly and the beam COMPL - steering, Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the duct - rear heater front, Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER DUCT>REMOVAL>FRONT .
- Remove the duct - foot. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER DUCT>REMOVAL>FOOT .
- Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly.
