Front Differential Assembly: Removal

- Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (5MT)> MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transfer case together with the extension case assembly. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (5MT)>TRANSFER CASE AND EXTENSION CASE ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transmission case. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (5MT)>TRANSMISSION CASE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the drive pinion shaft assembly. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (5MT)>DRIVE PINION SHAFT ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the main shaft assembly. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (5MT)>MAIN SHAFT ASSEMBLY> REMOVAL .
- Remove the front differential assembly.CAUTION:
- Do not confuse the right and left taper roller bearing outer races.
- Be careful not to damage the oil seal of differential side retainer.
- Remove the differential side retainers using the ST.
Preparation tool:
ST: WRENCH COMPL RETAINER (18658AA021)
- Remove the taper roller bearing outer race from the transmission case using the ST (PULLER ASSY).
