HVAC System (Heater, Ventilator And A/C) (Except For HEV): Evaporator: Removal

CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Using the refrigerant recovery system. discharge refrigerant. Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the 12V engine restart battery sensor. and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  4. Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly. Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER AND COOLING UNIT>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the heater core. Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER CORE>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the motor - actuator mix LH and RH. (Auto A/C model) Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>AIR MIX DOOR ACTUATOR>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the bracket - cable. (Manual A/C model)
    1. Remove the screws, and then remove the bracket - cable.

  8. Remove the cover - evaporator.
    1. Remove the packing.

    2. Remove the screws and lock to remove the cover - evaporator.

  9. Remove the case assembly - heater unit.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the lock, and remove the case assembly - heater unit.

  10. Remove the evaporator assembly - cooling as shown in the figure.

  11. Remove the evaporator sensor. Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV>EVAPORATOR SENSOR>REMOVAL .
