DTC P058A-01: Auxiliary Battery Monitor Module General Electrical Failure: Notes

Outline of diagnosis: 

Any of the following conditions is met with the power switch on (IG). (1 trip detection logic):

Trouble symptom: 

DC/DC Converter command fixed

Wiring diagram: 

Charging system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM (CROSSTREK MODEL (HEV))>CHARGING SYSTEM>WIRING DIAGRAM .

  1. CHECK INSTALLATION CONDITION OF Battery (12V) sensor  .

    Check the installation condition of Battery (12V) sensor. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO (HEV))>BATTERY SENSOR .

    Is Battery (12V) sensor securely installed?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Securely install Battery (12V) sensor.

  2. CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Battery (12V) sensor CONNECTOR)  .

    Check the connecting condition of connector in Battery (12V) sensor and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO (HEV))>BATTERY SENSOR .

    Is there looseness at the connector connection, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matters at the relevant terminals?

    Yes  : Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Battery (12V) sensor - Battery (12V))  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the Battery (12V) sensor connector.
    3. Using a tester, measure the voltage between Battery (12V) sensor connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (B9) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage 11 - 14 V?

    Yes  : Replace Battery (12V) sensor. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO (HEV))>BATTERY SENSOR .

    No  : Repair or replace Wire harness between Battery (12V) sensor connector and chassis ground.
