Oil Seal: Replacement

Clean the transmission exterior.
Drain gear oil completely.
NOTE:
- Tighten the drain plug after draining transmission gear oil.
- Be sure to use a new gasket.
Tightening torque:

70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51 ft-lb)

Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Rear Exhaust Pipe.> < Ref. to REMOVAL , Muffler. >
Remove the heat shield cover. (If equipped)
Remove the propeller shaft. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Propeller Shaft. >
Using the ST, remove the oil seal.

Using the ST, install the oil seal.

Install the propeller shaft. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Propeller Shaft. >
Install the heat shield cover. (If equipped)
Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Rear Exhaust Pipe.> < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Muffler. >
Pour gear oil and check the oil level. < Ref. to , REPLACEMENT , Transmission Gear Oil. >
