	Remove
1	Print out the document "Trailer hitch, certificate"	All non-EU countries
	Trailer coupling certificate	* Applies to Europe only Print out the document "Trailer hitch, certificate" and submit for the installation acceptance. For do-it-yourself installation, print out the detailed installation instructions and hand over to the customer.	OF31.10-P-1000-01D
2	Remove left and right trim in luggage compartment

		Vehicles without CODE 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat) or without CODE 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with continuous adjustment damping)) or without CODE 810 (Sound system) Replace the left trim in the luggage compartment.
3	Remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module
			AR54.21-P-1258EW
		Check in the EPC if the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module installed in accordance with the vehicle equipment can be used for the retrofitting of the trailer hitch (AHV). If necessary, the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module may have to be removed and replaced with a unit compatible with the trailer hitch. If the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module does not need to be replaced, just detach it and put aside.
4	Remove on-board electrical system battery	MODEL 212.0 with ENGINE 273

5	Remove rear bumper

6	Remove exhaust rubber bushings on rear muffler	Left on a single-pipe exhaust system. Left and right on a twin-pipe exhaust system.
7	Remove crossmember (6)	Cross member (6) is a delete component.
8	Check electric fan for compatibility; replace if necessary	Check in the EPC if the electric fan installed in accordance with the vehicle equipment can be used for the retrofitting of the trailer hitch (AHV). If necessary, the electric fan may have to be removed and replaced with a unit that is compatible with the trailer hitch.

16	Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card via vehicle documentation system (VeDoc)	Add:  CODE 550 (Trailer hitch)

18	Connect Star Diagnosis and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)
