Remove/install battery - AR54.10-P-0005EW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on battery   AH54.10-P-0001-01A
1 Detach ground terminal (1) from on-board electrical system battery (G1)   AR54.10-P-0003EW 
2 Remove cover (2)    
3 Disconnect positive line (3) of on-board electrical system battery (G1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, battery cable to on-board electrical system battery negative terminal/positive terminal *BA54.10-P-1006-01F 
4 Disconnect vent hose (6) from on-board electrical system battery (G1) INSTALLATION NOTES
Check bleed hose (6) is correctly seated. Otherwise leaking battery vapor may damage the vehicle.
 
5 Unscrew bolt (4) or nut (7) of mounting rail (5) IMPORTANT Two bolts (4) are installed on MODEL 207.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut/bolt, battery mounting rail *BA54.10-P-1001-01F 
6 Remove mounting rail (5)    
7 Release clamping element (10) on locking device (9) and remove retaining belt (8) MODEL 212
with CODE ME04 (Mild hybrid drive)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Clamp retaining belt (8) using clamping element (10) until the retaining belt (8) and the carrier (11) are fully fitted to the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
 
8 Unhook retaining belt (8) from body and remove with carrier (11) MODEL 212
with CODE ME04 (Mild hybrid drive)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check carrier (11) is correctly seated in guide (arrow).
 
9 Remove on-board electrical system battery (G1)    
10 Install in the reverse order
